Fat Tire Festival in Eureka Springs Returns this July
The 2006 Fat Tire Festival begins in Eureka Springs July 18 and lasts through July 20.The most notable change this year is that the XC finish will be at the Lake Leatherwood Ball Field complex and NOT the day use area. The course will be predominately the same except that the expert classes will endure additional loops on Miner’s Rock instead of the lake loop. More on that in the coming days.
The “PTD” Downhill will be spiced up thanks to Progressive Trail Designs. They will be revamping the course and added some new features. The “Super Fat” Observed Trials will be at Harmon Park as usual, and the “Phat Tire” Short Track will return for it’s second year thanks to support from “Phat Tire” Bike shop out of Bentonville AR.
One other key change will be the location of Saturday night’s XC pre-registration and Observed Trials Awards. They will now take place at the Pied Piper located on Spring Street just a few hundred yards south of the Auditorium. Here we will all be entertained with music, fatty films, food, and beverage specials and a "one of a kind" party atmosphere.
Also new this year will be a guided ride on the Trimble Ranch in Berryville, just a few miles east of Eureka Springs. These new area trails are sweet and only open by invitation.
Join a crew on Saturday at 12 noon to ride 8 miles of the newest “Fat” single track in NWA.
Stay tuned and all of the details for the 2008 Adventure Subaru Fatty Fest will be revealed. Get ready for the best Fatty Fest ever.
